Every painting here is left unfinished. I stop when it feels enough, and leave the rest for you to complete.

Sanjeev Panackal Thomas is an engineer, entrepreneur and award-winning author who came to painting by accident. With no formal training, he picked up a brush on impulse and, in a burst of 120 days, made more than fifty paintings.
His work moves between places he has known, from the falls at Athirappilly and a sunset at Varkala to the palms of Kovalam and the monsoon streets of Mumbai, and pure abstraction. The Boy series, inspired by his young grandson's talent for the performing arts, celebrates that early passion.
He works large, in acrylic on canvas and paper, often with spray and embossing medium, building texture and haze in layers. Each work is deliberately unfinished: he stops when it feels enough and leaves the rest for the viewer to take forward. Hence, unfinishedscapes.
His atmospheric spray works, such as Swaying Palms of Kovalam, have been singled out by curators as a signature style he continues to develop.
